No Death Threats Allowed on Here

A senior at the Savannah Arts Academy has been barred from campus and will not be allowed to return until he has been evaluated, Savannah-Chatham school district officials are reporting today.

The student posted an entry on a blog stating that he was going to kill everyone at the school. His name has not been released.

Principal Odessa Richards learned of the blog entry about 9 p.m. Tuesday night and called in the student and his parents this morning for a conference, said Bucky Burnsed, the district's spokesman.

The student said he believed the blog entry was "taken out of context,'' Burnsed said.

School officials, using the district's new automated alert system, began contacting parents about the incident.

Partygoers end up in police custody
Three 17-year-old boys were arrested by Savannah-Chatham police for aggravated assault after they fled the scene of an incident early Sunday morning.
The three teens had been kicked out of a party on Skidaway Island on Saturday evening because they had previously stolen property from the residence, according to a police report.
One of the teens was reportedly carrying around a black pistol at the party.
One of the victims stated the three individuals had returned to the area after being kicked out of the party.
After leaving the party, the victims' vehicle, a black BMW, passed the suspects' vehicle, a white Ford Explorer, at which time the suspects fired one shot into the rear driver's-side door of the BMW, according to the report.
The suspects then began to follow the victims' car as he tried to evade them, according to police.
Once they felt they were safe, the victims stopped and called police. They were able to provide descriptions, as well as the name of one of the suspects.
Shortly after the description was given, the Explorer was stopped on Diamond Causeway while attempting to leave Skidaway Island.
The three teens were taken into custody and charged with multiple misdemeanors and felonies.

Vick Gets 23 Months

Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison Monday for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy that involved gambling and killing pit bulls.
The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback could have been sentenced up to five years by District Judge Henry E. Hudson. Vick was dressed in a black-and-white striped prison suit and apologized to the court and his family.
Hudson responded, "You need to apologize to the millions of young people who looked up to you."
"Yes, sir," Vick said.
Vick acknowledged he used "poor judgment" and added, "I'm willing to deal with the consequences and accept responsibility for my actions."
Before the hearing started, Michael Vick's brother, Marcus Vick, sat with his right arm around their mother, comforting her as she buried her head in her hands and wept.
Vick also received three years' probation. With nearly a month already served, his scheduled release would come in October 2009.
Vick pleaded guilty in August, admitting he bankrolled the "Bad Newz Kennels" dogfighting operation and helped kill six to eight dogs.
In a plea agreement, he admitted bankrolling the dogfighting ring on his 15-acre property in rural southeastern Virginia and helping kill pit bulls that did not perform well in test fights. He also admitted providing money for bets on the fights but said he never shared in any winnings.

Toomer's Corner Burned

As I'm sure all of you know, Auburn has a tradition of rolling Toomer's corner following wins in football. Toomer's corner is found on the intersection of Magnolia and College Street. It is named for Toomer's Drugs a drugstore located at the intersection. Toomer's had the only telegraph in the city, still the main source of communication in Auburn, so after they received a telegraph with the results the owners would roll the trees to announce an Auburn victory. Following this year's Iron Bowl the Auburn fans continued this tradition rolling oak trees located on Toomer's corner. The past two years following their victories over Alabama they played Rammer Jammer, a cheer done by Alabama fans following a win. Since yall probably don't know how it goes, this is how: Hey Vols(or whatever the mascot of the opposing team) we just beat the hell out of you, Rammer Jammer yellow hammer give 'em hell Alabama! Auburn decided to play this with a few changes: Hey Bama, we just beat the hell out of you, rammer jammer yellow hammer, go to hell Alabama. Our retaliation, setting the toilet paper in the trees at Toomer's on fire. About 2:30am Sunday morning the Auburn Fire Department received a call that Toomer's Corner was burning. Firefighters arrived on the scene about 7 minutes later to find the toilet paper along with part of the oak tree on fire. An eye witness said it was a man in an Alabama jacket who pulled a lighter from his pocket and the the toilet paper in several places. Who knows what retaliation is in store for us next year.

Shreveport, Louisiana

This bustling city of close to 300,000 residents is located in the area known to locals as Tex-Ark-Cana. It is also located a mere 60 mile from my home town of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Due to the fact that Natchitoches had a little more than a Wal-Mart and a Mcdonald's I spent many of my Saturday's during my formative years in Shreveport. In fact I ran my first of many 5k races in this town. An interesting note about this town is that it is know for one thing. Hosting the INDEPENCE BOWL.

The Bull**** Computer System?

I'm sure you are all upset with the fact the Georgia is not in the BCS title game, but is there any reason to be? LSU got in because they won the SEC Championship, using their backup quarterback I might add. Georgia didn't even win the SEC East. Sure in 2003 Oklahoma got in the National Championship without winning their conference. They finished the regular season undefeated and then lost in the Big 12 Championship which was their first loss of the season. Also in 2001 Nebraska was in a very similar situation as Georgia is this year. They were undefeated until losing the final game which kept them out of the Big 12 Championship and still played in the National Championship. Again they only had one loss. I would have liked to have seen Georgia in the National Championship but LSU is the more deserving team. Both their losses to Arkansas(Darren McFadden) and Kentucky, a team that Georgia beat, were in triple overtime so its not like they got blown out in either loss. Georgia's two losses came against South Carolina, a very close game, and three touchdown blowout to Tennessee. LSU beat both Tennessee and South Carolina. I understand that their is no rule saying that you have to win your conference but in the end that was what killed Georgia's chance. You really have nothing to be angry about because Georgia still got an at large bid to the Sugar Bowl although I would liked to have seen them play USC in the Rose Bowl or a rematch with Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl. I don't know if anyone saw where Mark Richt was talking about wearing the black jerseys and trying to blackout the Superdome. Also if anyone is curious Alabama will be in the Independence Bowl this year against Colorado.

Savannah Holiday Classic

Not sure if yall have seen the brackets for the Christmas tournament but we play Midland Valley a basketball team from Middle of Nowhere, South Carolina. After that we get the winner or loser of SCD-Windsor Forest depending on what we do. While it would be much more interesting than losing to Windsor Forest by 20 something again I am praying we don't have to play Country Day this year. That could be really really bad.

The End of the Rush Propst's Era

Last weekend Hoover High was elimated from the Alabama 6A state playoffs after losing to Vestavia Hills 21-17. Also coming to an end was the career of Rush Propst as the head football coach at Hoover. Although he chose to resign after everything that happened, he now feels he had no option but to resign and regrets his decision to do so. The following article was published in The Birmingham News last Saturday:

Rush Propst removed his headset and handed it to an assistant coach. He put his hands on his hips, took off his visor and shook his head. It was the end.
Propst's career as Hoover's head coach came to a close at Vestavia High School on Buddy Anderson Field after the Rebels' 21-17 quarterfinal victory on Friday over the Buccaneers.
"Don't want to think about it," Propst said of his next step. "I'll take a few days off, get out of town, just enjoy early retirement. They got what they wanted. They got my head and sliced it off pretty good and took me out. Now that vocal minority can be happy." A wall of Vestavia Hills students surrounded Propst as he talked with media members after the game. Some held camera phones, took pictures and reveled in his final moments as Hoover's head coach.
Propst said he regrets stepping down and doesn't believe he should have.
"I thought I was forced to do it in a lot of different ways," he said. "I just didn't feel I got the support from my administration and from city officials. It's very disappointing to me, and a lot of people tell me inside Hoover, they're very upset with how this happened. But you know what? Eventually they're going to get you, and they got me."
Propst said he felt like he had no choice but to resign when he did.
"I felt our football team had taken enough," he said. "These football players had taken enough. When they come after you, they're gonna eventually get you."
The game itself provided plenty of moments for Propst to unleash his emotional personality. He wore two state championship rings, one on each ring finger. He pumped his fists and threw his hands in the air after Hoover's defense made big stops. He threw his clipboard after receivers dropped balls.
In the fourth quarter, Propst turned to media members as they stood on the sideline.
"Watch this, boys," he said. "It's either feast or famine."
Tyler Ray then completed a 16-yard flea flicker to receiver Terrance Patton, which set up a 23-yard field goal several plays later.
Propst's career at Hoover spanned nine years. He compiled a 110-16 record and won five state championships. He starred in an MTV reality television show, becoming a household name and the face of Alabama high school football.
He divided a community this fall when allegations of academic impropriety and preferential treatment of athletes surfaced at the high school. Some in the community supported Propst, while others vehemently opposed him.
"It's sad," he said. "But all good things have to come to an end. I'm not worried about Rush Propst. I've won enough football games to last a lifetime."

With the first game less than two nights away and bcgottum still not posting a preview of the season I will go ahead and give a preview of the season in my humble opinion which means nothing. I will start off by saying this will be a long long year. Anytime several of your projected starters are sophmores you know you are in trouble.

Backcourt
With the loss of Austin, Mike, and Peanut we must replace our entire backcourt. Don't expect Charles Futch or Jordan Mckinney to fill any part of this vast hole because they have been cut. Joey Fries and mayfair's own Phillip Kennedy will share the majority of the load. If a quick team decides to press there will be mass confussion. With coach Cannon's hesitation to call timeouts I think we may be out of many games before they have even really started.

Frontcourt
Last year's much improved Colin Barnes returns and should provide consistent scoring. Devon "T.O." Walker will do no scoring since he has also been cut. Daniel Coursey will probly see consistent playing time and hopefully can develope into solid contributor.

Overview
With Liberty county taking Savannah High to overtime earlier in the season we can assume everybody in the sub-region will be playing for second place. I have no clue how good Burke county will be. Same with South Effingham. I am assuming they will be down with the loss of leading scorer Daniel Browning but you never know. One thing we should be able to count on is at least two wins against Richmond Hill. To sum it up the normally positive Bill Curley told me several weeks ago, "If this team wins five games Coach Cannon should be the coach of the year." It would be nice if one of the wins, assuming we win two games, came over Christmas break.

Sean Taylor

There's a reason I call them the Black KKK. The pain, the fear and the destruction are all the same.
Someone who loved Sean Taylor is crying right now. The life they knew has been destroyed, an 18-month-old baby lost her father, and, if you're a black man living in America, you've been reminded once again that your life is in constant jeopardy of violent death.
The Black KKK claimed another victim, a high-profile professional football player with a checkered past this time.
No, we don't know for certain the circumstances surrounding Taylor's death. I could very well be proven wrong for engaging in this sort of aggressive speculation. But it's no different than if you saw a fat man fall to the ground clutching his chest. You'd assume a heart attack, and you'd know, no matter the cause, the man needed to lose weight.
Well, when shots are fired and a black man hits the pavement, there's every statistical reason to believe another black man pulled the trigger. That's not some negative, unfair stereotype. It's a reality we've been living with, tolerating and rationalizing for far too long.
When the traditional, white KKK lynched, terrorized and intimidated black folks at a slower rate than its modern-day dark-skinned replacement, at least we had the good sense to be outraged and in no mood to contemplate rationalizations or be fooled by distractions.
Our new millennium strategy is to pray the Black KKK goes away or ignores us. How's that working?
About as well as the attempt to shift attention away from this uniquely African-American crisis by focusing on an alleged injustice the white media allegedly perpetrated against Sean Taylor.
Within hours of his death, there was a story circulating that members of the black press were complaining that news outlets were disrespecting Taylor's victimhood by reporting on his troubled past
No disrespect to Taylor, but he controlled the way he would be remembered by the way he lived. His immature, undisciplined behavior with his employer, his run-ins with law enforcement, which included allegedly threatening a man with a loaded gun, and the fact a vehicle he owned was once sprayed with bullets are all pertinent details when you've been murdered.
Marcellus Wiley, a former NFL player, made the radio circuit Wednesday, singing the tune that athletes are targets. That was his explanation for the murders of Taylor and Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams and the armed robberies of NBA players Antoine Walker and Eddy Curry.
Really?
Let's cut through the bull(manure) and deal with reality. Black men are targets of black men. Period. Go check the coroner's office and talk with a police detective. These bullets aren't checking W-2s.
Rather than whine about white folks' insensitivity or reserve a special place of sorrow for rich athletes, we'd be better served mustering the kind of outrage and courage it took in the 1950s and 1960s to stop the white KKK from hanging black men from trees.
But we don't want to deal with ourselves. We take great joy in prescribing medicine to cure the hate in other people's hearts. Meanwhile, our self-hatred, on full display for the world to see, remains untreated, undiagnosed and unrepentant.
Our self-hatred has been set to music and reinforced by a pervasive culture that promotes a crab-in-barrel mentality.
You're damn straight I blame hip hop for playing a role in the genocide of American black men. When your leading causes of death and dysfunction are murder, ignorance and incarceration, there's no reason to give a free pass to a culture that celebrates murder, ignorance and incarceration.
Of course there are other catalysts, but until we recapture the minds of black youth, convince them that it's not OK to "super man dat ho" and end any and every dispute by "cocking on your bitch," nothing will change.
Does a Soulja Boy want an education?
HBO did a fascinating documentary on Little Rock Central High School, the Arkansas school that required the National Guard so that nine black kids could attend in the 1950s. Fifty years later, the school is one of the nation's best in terms of funding and educational opportunities. It's 60 percent black and located in a poor black community.
Watch the documentary and ask yourself why nine poor kids in the '50s risked their lives to get a good education and a thousand poor black kids today ignore the opportunity that is served to them on a platter.
Blame drugs, blame Ronald Reagan, blame George Bush, blame it on the rain or whatever. There's only one group of people who can change the rotten, anti-education, pro-violence culture our kids have adopted. We have to do it.
According to reports, Sean Taylor had difficulty breaking free from the unsavory characters he associated with during his youth.
The "keepin' it real" mantra of hip hop is in direct defiance to evolution. There's always someone ready to tell you you're selling out if you move away from the immature and dangerous activities you used to do, you're selling out if you speak proper English, embrace education, dress like a grown man, do anything mainstream.
The Black KKK is enforcing the same crippling standards as its parent organization. It wants to keep black men in their place — uneducated, outside the mainstream and six feet deep.
In all likelihood, the Black Klan and its mentality buried Sean Taylor, and any black man or boy reading this could be next.

Notre Dame vs. Duke

This could be the most intriguing match up of the weekend. How it was left off the picks is beyond me. We have two 1-9 teams playing with one team coming away with its second victory of the season and the other moving into double digits on the loss column. Each of these teams is win less at home this year. They are both worst than 100th in the country in total yards, rushing yards, and points scored. However each team does manage to creep into the top 100 in passing yards with Notre Dame being #99 and Duke being #56. Duke leads Notre Dame in each of the statistics except rushing yards where Notre Dame holds a slight advantage averaging 56.6 yards a game compared to Duke's 52.9 yards a game. Finally Duke has Eron Riley of Savannah, Georgia who leads Duke in receiving with 756 yards on 35 catches including 9 touchdowns. Riley was also named ACC player of the week for his performance against Navy where he racked up 235 yards receiving with 4 touchdowns. Navy beat Notre Dame and Duke by a combined 5 points with Notre Dame losing by two in triple overtime. Who do yall think wins this one? This game will not count towards the standings but just for fun everyone make their pick.

Ryan Shay dies at U.S. marathon olympic trials

One of the most exciting and promising days for U.S. distance running was overshadowed by the death of 28 year old Ryan Shay. Shay collasped at the 5 and 1/2 mile mark and was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Shay was 2002 graduate of Notre Dame where he won the 2001 10,000 meter national championship. He was also a 4 time national champion as a professional in distances from the 15k to the marathon.

The football team at Smith Center High School in Smith Center, Kansas, scored 72 points in the first quarter of a game last night which it won 86-0. The Salina, Kansas, Journal says Smith Center forced six turnovers in the first quarter as it racked up what is believed to be a record for points in a quarter by a high school team. The paper said the previous record was 66 set in Arizona by Prescott High School in 1925. Smith Center has outscored its opponents 640-0 so far this season. That includes a 69-0 win earlier this year over Plainville High, the same team it beat last night.

Rush Propst resigns as coach at school from MTV's "Two-A-Days," Hoover High in Alabama

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) -The coach of the high school football program first featured in MTV's "Two-A-Days'' program resigned Tuesday night amid a school board investigation, forfeits and turmoil in Rush Propst's personal life.
Hoover High School had to forfeit four games this season because the state association ruled it played an ineligible player.
The Hoover city school board on Tuesday night unanimously voted to accept Propst's resignation, but Propst will remain in place through the end of the current season.

Under the agreement, Propst will coach through the end of the season and then be transferred to another job within the school system until his resignation takes effect Aug. 31.
A school board investigation found evidence of grade changing and preferential treatment for some football players, raised questions about the program's finances, and concluded that Propst, who is married and has children, has supported a second family in another town.
Propst, who has five state titles and a 108-15 record at Hoover, spoke to the audience after the meeting. He addressed concerns raised by the investigation and expressed his regret for some actions in his personal life. But he also reiterated his pride in the program's accomplishments.
Despite the forfeits, the Bucs are still considered a leading contender for a sixth state championship under Propst.

Big Money and Al-yn's choice for mayor-Yusuf Shabazz

Yusuf Shabaz previously known as Lorenzon Jackson is the leader of the NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY in Savannah, who advocate tax exemptions for black people. He claims he is not "anti-white" simply "pro black." Thank God for a second I thought he might be biased. Here are a few quotes from this great American.

"I believe the police came out here with the intentions of killing a black youth that night"-In response to a 18 year who pulled a gun and was shot by a Jacksonville police officer who was trying to arrest him.

"I believe in black laws for black people," said Shabazz. "So you think blacks and whites should be separate?""Oh, definitely.""Why do you think that?""Because white folks are evil."

All these things are great but I am just curious if he is against resturants who discriminate against young black males who are just trying to grab a bite to eat after a high school basketball game.

Richt Apologizes

Georgia coach Mark Richt apologized Monday for his team's raucous celebration after its first touchdown against Florida, a display that he encouraged in hopes of firing his team up. The motivational tactic seemed to work -- the No. 10 Bulldogs went on to a 42-30 victory. But Richt apologized to Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive by telephone and in a letter for his actions leading up to Saturday's game. Some 70 players stormed the field after Knowshon Moreno's touchdown run, leading to numerous penalty flags. Richt didn't mind a bit, admitting afterward he told his team he would give them extra running if they didn't get called for excessive celebration. "As a follow-up to our telephone discussion earlier today, I do want to apologize in writing for what transpired after the first score of the Georgia/Florida game this past Saturday when our entire team left the bench area to celebrate the score." Richt wrote. "I apologize that I put everyone in that situation and specifically apologize to you, the Southeastern Conference, and the University of Florida. You can be assured I will not ask our team to do this type of thing again." Richt, normally one of college football's most reserved coaches, repeated earlier statements that he was trying to fire up a team that he felt needed to play with more passion. "Two weeks ago when our preparation began for the Florida game, I told the team that we have got to have more energy and enthusiasm in this ball game or we are going to get whipped pretty good," Richt wrote in his letter to Slive. "I said, as a matter of fact, when we score our first touchdown, I expect you guys to celebrate to the point where the official will throw a flag for excessive celebration. I admit this was inappropriate." Charles Bloom, associate commissioner of the SEC, said Slive received the letter and "accepts his apology." The league plans no disciplinary action against Richt, Bloom added. Richt said he thought only those players already on the field would celebrate. Instead, virtually the entire team charged into the end zone. "On the day of the game I re-emphasized to the team that this was not going to be an individual celebration, but a team celebration," Richt wrote. "Again, I was expecting the 11 players on the field to be doing the celebrating, not for the bench to clear as it did. "I understand that the entire team running on the field created the potential for an altercation and that excessive celebration is not in compliance with the Southeastern Conference sportsmanship policies and expected standards. My only intention was to create enthusiasm."

Yesterday...

So I was running down a busy two lane road by myself yesterday and one of Belmont, North Carolina's finest citizens, he was about 22-25 years old driving around a 20 year old honda civic, arms covered in tatoos, and needed a haircut and shave really badly well anyway he pulled up next to me and told me to and I quote, "Go suck a dick" so I responded with, "Hey fuck you" the next thing I know he stops his car gets out and starts cussing me out. So I just keep running and he gets back in his car drives down the road and pulls into a drive way about 75 yards in front of me and gets out of his car and starts yelling, "What now... What now" so I turn around and run the other way and he says, "Ya thats what I thought... say something bitch" so I look back and yell "Nice car" well apparently he didn't take it as a compliment because he got back in his car and drove back towards me and pulled into a road that was about 30 yards behind me and got out of his car and came charging after me in a full sprint, I ran for my life, almost as fast as Brendan Ox ran when he dusted/embarassed Brian on the soccer field our junior year in that footrace and the last thing I heard was him yelling/panting "Don't run bitch" several times. Needless to say I haven't been that scared since spring of Sophmore year during second lunch when Nick(then known as Nikki) Schemmel said those now famous words...

Gator or Gamecock?

This article was published about 2 weeks ago in the Spartanburg Herald Journal. RB Franklin Green (5-11 208) of Savannah committed to Florida in July but is far from settled on a final decision. He made an unofficial visit to USC in September and is torn between the Gamecocks and Gators. "I consider myself a Florida commitment but in a way I consider it even," Green said. He talked with USC recruiter John Hunt last week. "He said he really wanted me and (teammate) Chaz (Sutton) to come down. He's showing a lot of interest." Green said he will try to get to USC for another game this season. He plans to take official visits to USC and Florida after the season.

No Game for Georgia.. But it couldn't have been a better week

Georgia couldn't ask for a better bye weekend than the one we just got. With losses from Tennessee, Kentucky, and the badass Vanderbilt upset of South Carolina, the SEC east is the craziest I've ever seen with a 5-way tie for #1. With another loss from USC and Tennessee, which is highly likely looking at both of their remaining SEC games, and a win-out from the dawgs in the SEC (which will be extremely tough with Florida, Kentucky, and Auburn) we will be in the SEC championship. We dont control our own destiny yet.. but we got a ton of help this week. What a crazy year of college football

These records are bad. Well either we are a bunch of idiots or it has been the most unpredictable college football season of all time. I'm leaning towards the latter. This has certainly been a gruelling season with one contestant already quitting because he couldn't take the heat. Curly knew Brendan was a quitter when he found out that Brendan wasn't going to make the trip with the rest of the freshman football team to Wayne County after Emory fell on his foot in practice. It is looking like a three horse race for first place with Joe holding a slight lead over myself and Austin tied for second. Maybe the most interesting match up is the race for last place between Fender and Gillens. This isn't the first time these two have squared off but we won't get into that. The most intriguing aspect of the race for last is that Brendan missed last week picks entirely and he is somehow only one game away from tying him. Gillens, if you can pass Fender after that setback, I think there should be some sort of a prize. Good luck the rest of the season. Also, I will no longer be putting BC picks up now that it is subregion time and I can't in good conscience pick against BC.

If You Dont Like America Then Fuck You

Are you tired of comments like "I don't like America. It is full of stuck up pigs and assholes." Well for all of you people who think this and have come to America to start a "new" life. We "true" Americans have something to say to you... "FUCK YOU!!!"This group is for people who think America is the shit. From fucking up Iraqis, to saying hell no to homos (Yay lesbians). And people who believe....THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN! (thats the only America worth a damn)

I love the title of the group it has alot of potential until you read the description.

1. The first line is brilliant has anyone here every heard the comment "I don't like America. It is full of stuck up pigs and assholes." I dont think I have ever heard some described as a stuck up pig but whatever
2. The 2nd and 3rd lines are really interesting. If someone has moved from their home country and come to America to start a "new" life I am going to go out on a limb and say that they like America and would never say it is full of stuck up pigs and assholes.
3. The last two lines are even better. Fucking up some Iraqis sounds fine to me and so does saying hell no to homos but if they want the "SOUTH TO RISE AGAIN" then they must not like America very much. So basically these dumbasses have created a group that says Fuck Me I dont like America. Also I am pretty sure America would have a hard time Fucking up some Iraqis if the half of the country(the south) with the larger military bases was no longer part of America.
4. The most ironic part of this whole thing is these guys love the south and love to drive big trucks their daddies bought them and love to go huntin and fishin and out in the boat but they probly listen to Young Jeezey or 50 cent or some other black guy in his mid to late 20s who they have absolutely nothing in common with.

Look At Me, I'm Different

On Saturday at halftime of FSU/ Alabama, Austin and I decided to stroll downstairs and go for lunch. The elevator door opened to reveal four kids who I will describe as being...individualistic. They were riding the elevator standing backwards each with a newspaper in hand. It was obvious that these four (three guys and one butch) had nothing better to do on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon in Athens but go up and down this elevator backwards pretending to read newspapers for this reason: they were different and wanted everyone to know, they were allowed to act weird, and they wanted desperately to get attention from a poser like myself or Austin. We looked at each other, smiled, and stepped into the elevator. I decided that I wasn't going to give these yuppies the satisfaction of recognizing the fact that they were different and I was, infact a poser. Austin however, quickly decided otherwise. He says, "What the hell are yall doing?" We quickly learned that while the punks had the right to be different, No one had the right to ask why.

whats up boys? sry it has taken me a while to post, i could not figure out how to get this shit working...Life in Florida is awsome.For right now it is alot of free beer at Frat parties and alot of hot girls wearing little to nothing because it is so hot. I have been surfing a couple of times at New Smyrna beach(which was a special feature on shark week as shark "hotspot")It was true because the first time i paddle out into the water a 5foot spinner shark jumped 30 feet from me. Let me tell you that the waves here make tybees waves look like pussys. The two coolest parts of college so far was a toga party..you might have seen my pic on facebook, and while i was surfing ..we saw like 25 tarpon(picture, pat i know you know) rolling in the surf..... i have not fished yet but i plan to tommorrow night.....i hope all is well .....your president

Hoover Under Investigation

HOOVER, Ala. -- The future of Hoover High School's Football Program is under scrutiny as the investigation into alleged grade changing wraps up.Head Football Coach Rush Probst is the talk of the town as the investigation winds down into alleged grade changing for football players and what his future will be here at the school district.Judge Sam Poynter said his investigation is all but done.He will turn his report in to board members at the end of the month, which is next week, and they will decide what to do with the information.School board president Donna Frazier said the board will rely on it's attorney to delve into the information and make decisions from there.The report is due on August 31st.

World Champions

The little league baseball team from Warner Robbins, Georgia just defeated Japan in the Little League World Series championship game with a walk off homerun in extra innings. This is the second consecutive year a team from Georgia has won it all. God Bless America.

Cross Country Team

I know yall probly don't care but the cross country team opened up it season yesterday at the Nike Arts in the Park cross country race in Daffin park. They were led by a freshman Rhett Anderson in 19:20 with Pearson Beasley and Kevin Lewis two or three seconds behind. Adam Doyle and Brett Mckinnon rounded out the top five in 19:45 and 19:47. We ended up placing 3rd this an improvement from last year where our 5th runner came in around 20:37 and we placed 4th.

Fabulous Football Friday

We decided about two hours before gametime tonight to drive to Savannah and watch the BC/High School scrimmage.

Highlights included but are not limited to the following:

*Michael Johnson had two interceptions.

*I don't think High School ran a single play on the ground.

*The field looks the best I've seen in five years.

*Our secondary isn't very good.

*The option took way too long to develop in the backfield.

*Caleb Collins is still very miniature.

*We got new pants...I think.

*Curly broke up a fight.

*I met Father Frank.

*Brian saw some old but still very young friends and then left the game to party with them.

*His parents don't know he is in Savannah and he probably won't visit.

I don't want to make a season prediction because it is always hard to guage your opponent's ability from year to year. But, if our competition is say, at the same level it was last year, BC will probably make the playoffs. Heck, even Kaaarl Demaaassi said we would. (I'm expecting our seb-region to be tougher than last year.)
