Haile Gebreselassie



The greatest distance runner of all time broke the marathon world record today in 2:04.26. He ran the final 3.1 miles (5k) in 14:30.

So... this guy ran for 2 hours at a pace(4:43 per mile) nobody in Savannah could hold for more than 5 minutes.

In related new the bc cross country team went from being unranked out of 15 ranked teams in the state to ranked 9th after their very impressive run at the Mercer invitational were they were 4th out of 28 teams losing to 3 ranked teams and beating region opponents Hepzibah and Waco who was ranked 9th both by over 100 points.

In April of 2007 on the BC track, Brian Kennedy ran "the fastest mile ever" as proclaimed by LTC Manson Owens III. Amazingly only one day later, his younger brother Phillip shattered the ground breaking record.
