This bustling city of close to 300,000 residents is located in the area known to locals as Tex-Ark-Cana. It is also located a mere 60 mile from my home town of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Due to the fact that Natchitoches had a little more than a Wal-Mart and a Mcdonald's I spent many of my Saturday's during my formative years in Shreveport. In fact I ran my first of many 5k races in this town. An interesting note about this town is that it is know for one thing. Hosting the INDEPENCE BOWL.

yea i couldn't remember if you were from shreveport or not. i would go to this game but its aabout 12 1/2 or 13 hours away so i won't be making this trip. unless joe wants to go back and visit in which case i would gladly buy his ticket.
